Two-time Olympic gold medallist Caster Semenya claims she is beginning a”new travel” after connecting a women’s football club.
Semenya is currently appealing against a decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport which won’t defend her title in Doha at September at the World Championships and accepted the introduction of a new testosterone limitation to female athletes of the IAAF.
The 28-year-old has started training with Southern African side JVW, but is not able to create her debut until next year – starting in 2020 – together with the transport window currently closed.
JVW, that are owned by South Africa women’s captain Janine van Wyk, announced the signing of Semenya.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity and I love the love and support I get from the group,” Semenya said in a declaration.
“I am looking forward to this new journey, and hopefully I can bring as far as I can to the club.”
Van Wyk said:”I am absolutely recognized that out of all the other women’s clubs around the world, she’s picked JVW since the club where she’d like to begin showcasing her football skills.
“I chased her first coaching [session] with the team on Tuesday and was amazed to find that she certainly has all the principles”
